WHAT IS DONATION FREQUENCY?

Donation Frequency is a calculation of how many donations a donor will make during a set period of time. This metric is used in the equation for lifetime value. In the Fundraising Report Card, we calculate donation frequency on a per year basis. For example, “your donors tend to make 2.1 donations per year.” The donation frequency is 2.1 donations.

HOW IS IT CALCULATED?

Donation frequency is calculated by simply taking the total count of donations in a given period of time and dividing by the total count of donors. The equation looks something like this: Frequency = count of donations ÷ count of donors
