Donations

WHAT IS A DONATION?

A donation is an individual occurrence of a donor ID number. A donation is unique, and never summed or aggregated with other donations from an individual donor. It is unbelievably important to understand how we interpret a donation in order to understand the rest of our calculations.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A DONOR LEAVES MULTIPLE DONATIONS?

Yay! It’s awesome that a donor left your organization multiple gifts. But in the Fundraising Report Card, we interpret each individual gift on their own. For example, if a donor leaves five gifts of $1,000 each donation would be considered part of the $1,000-$4,999 segment. Donations are unique and never summed.
